Frequently asked questions

Answers about YAKKL, pricing, model routing, and security. If something is missing, ask us.

General

What is YAKKL?

YAKKL is orchestration and governance for AI-written code. It turns requests into enforced plans, durable artifacts, auditable execution, and finished delivery across multiple model vendors.

What makes YAKKL different from a coding assistant?

A coding assistant generates responses. YAKKL orchestrates the work around those responses: authority, plans, state, locks, routing, handoffs, artifacts, reviews, and acceptance evidence.

What is Rhumb Workflow Protocol?

Rhumb Workflow Protocol (RWP) is an open-source standard that defines how AI-assisted work becomes durable: intake, plans, state, handoffs, schemas, and audits. YAKKL is the reference implementation. The protocol is independently adoptable.

YAKKL

What does YAKKL do?

It turns AI requests into structured plans, artifacts, audits, and finished work. It routes phases across frontier, fast, local, and visual model types from multiple vendors, and keeps the results inspectable after the session ends.

What are Credit Units (CUs)?

Credit Units are units of work. CUs cover model execution, compute, cache, routing, and task cost. They are designed to produce more usable work per unit of spend than simple pass-through usage.

What is BYOK?

Bring Your Own Keys lets you use your own model provider accounts (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, xAI,and others) through YAKKL. You keep direct provider billing and account-level visibility.

Can I use both CUs and BYOK?

Yes. Hybrid mode uses CUs first while keeping your own keys available as a fallback, so work continues if your included credits run out.

Do included credits roll over?

No. Included Credit Units reset each calendar month and are use-it-or-lose-it. Your tier also unlocks better per-CU rates when you buy additional credits.

Pricing and security

How should I evaluate YAKKL?

Take Orchestrator monthly and cancel anytime. That is the full individual product — CLI, Desktop, Architecture Path, and the CU ledger. Step into Teams or Business when more than one person needs the work.

What does Founder’s Program pricing lock?

The price you join at is locked for three years from activation. After the Founder’s Program closes, new customers pay the then-current list price and do not get a three-year lock.

How do I report a security vulnerability?

Send findings to security@yakkl.com with a clear description, reproduction steps, and impact assessment. We aim to acknowledge within two business days and follow a coordinated disclosure process.
