YAKKL is the governance layer for AI-written code: durable state, enforced plans, model routing, handoffs, and an audit trail that survives the session.

Why open?

The workflow protocol underneath YAKKL — Rhumb Workflow Protocol — is open source. Plans, state, handoffs, schemas, and audits live in plain files. Work stays portable and inspectable regardless of which tool produced it.

We believe that trust in AI-assisted work has to be earned through transparency, not asserted through marketing. If you can inspect how the work was done, you can decide whether to trust it.

What is shipping now

• Governed execution: requests become explicit plans, phases, artifacts, reviews, and acceptance evidence.
• Multi-model routing: work can move across frontier, fast, visual, and local models based on capability, policy, and cost.
• Durable knowledge: decisions and provenance remain connected so a later change can be evaluated against what it affects.

What comes next

We are shipping in public because YAKKL gets better with real use and real feedback. Early builders who join during the founding period get influence over product direction and better economics.
